PTCL, one of the biggest telecom operator in Pakistan, has just launched a new 4G LTE tablet — the CharJi EVO. This is the second Android tablet from PTCL, the previous one was PTCL 3G EVO Tab. CharJi EVO tablet brings the faster Internet speeds of 4G LTE in a phablet-sized device that allows you to browse the Internet, enjoy full navigation, watch movies and live TV — and also make phone calls. The price of CharJi EVO tablet is just PKR 25,000 (USD $250) and comes bundled with an attractive package and features.
CharJi EVO tablets are manufactured by GadgeIT. The feature set completely justifies the price tag — it comes with a 6.98-inch display screen, 1.2 GHz quadcore processor, 2GB RAM, has an 8 megapixels camera at the back and a 3300 mAh battery for up to 7 hours of usage. This tablet is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat — this should have been atleast Lollipop in my opinion.
I had a hands-on with the CharJi tablet a couple of days back at an event held by PTCL in Lahore and was pretty impressed with it. This tablet has a decent build quality, great specifications in this price range and you can watch live TV on the go with PTCL Smart TV app for up to one year for free. You also get a car mount, which come in handy as the CharJi tablet has a registered copy of Sygic Maps built-in for your car navigation needs.
I’ll do a full review soon on Android Pakistan, till then enjoy the hands-on pictures below:
